Puget Sound Clean Air Agency

December 10, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency and its consultant ICF have published a correction to the Puget Sound Regional Transportation Fuels Analysis. The analysis, published in September 2019, explores the potential impacts of a regional clean fuel standard. The correction addresses an inadvertent error that resulted in less-than-anticipated diesel consumption being modeled for one sector of heavy-duty trucks in scenarios C and D (scenarios A and B were not affected). The main findings of the analysis remain the same: the correction does not change the level of carbon intensity reduction that can be achieved (26% by 2030), and has no anticipated discernible change to the economic or air quality modeling results. This correction also does not change any of the worst case scenario price per gallon fuel prices included in the analysis. Full details are available in the Appendix D of the analysis (Page 103). The public comment period on the draft rule remains open until January 6, 2020. There are three ways to submit a public comment:
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Mail: Send to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, 1904 Third Avenue, Suite 105, Seattle, WA 98101
  • In-person public hearing: Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. and 5 – 8 p.m. at the Washington State Convention Center, Room 2AB (705 Pike Street, Seattle, WA 98101)
